Dana Cappiello works very hard getting her clients where they want to go. Dana is energetic, hard working and enthusiastic. She has a positive attitude and can handle fast paced transactions. She is caring and loyal to her clients. She knows her marketplace and is aggressive in finding "off the market" properties in times of low inventory.
| Dana Cappiello currently lives in Portola Valley and is an active member of the community. She has lived in this area for over 20 years. She is a single mother of two boys, Derek and Dylan, who attend Canada College and The New York Film Academy. She also is the proud owner of two very large black labs, a tiny poodle, two cats and her horse, George. Being an avid equestrian and a member of the Woodside Trails Committee, she is extremely knowledgeable about country and horse properties. She has built a home in the Blue Oaks subdivision and knows the regulations and pitfalls of building and remodeling.
| Dana was a clothing designer prior to becoming a real estate agent and owned her own design firm for nearly twenty years, Dax & Coe. She has designed clothing for adidas, Macys,Saks Fifth Avenue, Target and numerous retailers throughout the US and Canada. This design ability is helpful in real estate. She can quickly determine a clients' style and find the perfect home for them. Dana imported her designs from the Far East both through her own Hong Kong office and through trade agents. When possible, she also manufactured within the US. This experience has been invaluable in terms of her negotiating skills, attention to detail and being able to work with a wide variety of people.
| | Dana is also the cofounder of the Until There's a Cure Foundation, which distributes the AIDS bracelet and has raised over $6 million for AIDS prevention, education and vaccine development. This grassroots organization teamed up with the San Francisco Giants to hold the first ever AIDS awareness event by a major sports franchise. The foundation, with Dana's direction, also coordinated events throughout the country with other teams, singers and celebrities. The foundation has had a major impact on the AIDS community and was the intial funder for two important AIDS vaccine foundations, the International Aids Vaccine Initiative and the AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition, both of which are now funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Dana currently serves on the board of Project Happiness, a non profit foundation which has produced a documentary and curriculum based on teaching people to be happy. The foundation will premiere its film at the Sundance Film Festival in 2009.
